My Message
My beloved Sri Lankans,
I stand before you with a message of unity, hope, and an unshakable belief in our collective strength. Sri Lanka is at a crossroads, just as the world is. We are facing an uncertain future, burdened by economic debt, social division, and global tensions pushing us towards World War III. But amidst this turmoil, I believe that Sri Lanka can rise as a beacon of hope for the world.
We are a nation rooted in compassion, the very compassion that Lord Buddha taught us—compassion that transcends race, religion, and political division. It is this principle of compassion that will guide us as we rebuild our country together, to not only solve our economic crisis but to lead the world by example.
I unveil a new vision: the vision of Sāma Rājya—Peaceful Governance. This is not just a political system; it is a new way of thinking. It is a system that calls for collaboration across all communities, all political parties, and all those who truly believe in the future of our country. Sāma Rājya will be the foundation for a new system where compassion guides decision-making, and where power is decentralized and shared among the people, not concentrated in the hands of a few.
I invite every Parliamentarian elected in this upcoming election to come together, not as opponents, but as partners, to form a National Government until 2027. Together, we will build a New Constitution, one that reflects the dreams, the desires, and the collective will of all Sri Lankans. Our goal is to ensure that no voice is left unheard, no community left behind. This is the moment where we break away from divisive politics and embrace collective leadership.
But this journey is not one we can undertake alone. Our diaspora—the millions of Sri Lankans around the world—must be directly involved. Not through intermediaries or individuals acting as conduits, but by engaging with them directly, bringing their wisdom, their expertise, and their resources into the fold. They are us, and we must build our future together.
By 2027, not only will we have eliminated Sri Lanka’s debt, but we will have laid the foundation for a new era—one in which Sri Lanka stands as a cultural superpower. A nation where all communities, Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher, and others, come together as one, showing the world what it means to be united in diversity.
As the world edges closer to conflict, we can be the example the world looks to. By living by the principle of compassion, as taught by Buddha, we can create a model of governance that prioritizes peace, collaboration, and human dignity above all else.
And as we chart our course forward, we must embrace the technologies of tomorrow—blockchain, artificial intelligence, and digital governance—to transform our economy and build a transparent, innovative, and decentralized system. These technologies will empower small businesses, unlock capital for rural communities, and create new opportunities for youth in the digital economy. Sri Lanka can, and will, become a global leader in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, using technology not just for economic growth, but for social harmony and sustainable development.
Let us, together, take this bold step. Let us show the world that Sri Lanka is not just a place on the map, but a light in the darkness—a nation that will lead with compassion, wisdom, and unity. Let us be the generation that transformed our country and inspired the world.
Thank you, and may we move forward together, as one nation, under Sāma Rājya.
